William Hill Poker don't host many tournaments compared to some other networks. Most of the tournaments they do hold are smaller buy in tournaments, though there are some good guaranteed and added money events.
The "William Hill Poker Super Series" offer the tournament player some great value. They run every other day on and gives player 2,000 in staring chips with 15 minute blinds, allowing you to play "proper" poker. These tournaments have a good structure and added value.
The following weekly tournaments will be available:
- Sunday 18:00 UK - £7,500 ADDED Buy-In £35 + £4
- Monday 19:30 UK - £3,500 ADDED Buy-In £15 + £2
- Wednesday 19:30 UK - £1,500 ADDED Buy-In £7.50 + £1 (requires 25 MPPs earnt in the previous 7 days)
- Friday 19:30 UK - £500 ADDED Buy-In £2.50 + £0.50 (requires 20 MPPs earnt in the previous 7 days)
Some of the bigger guaranteed events draw a good number players, namely the weekly £40K Guaranteed on Sunday which is £110 + £10.
William Hill also run some good qualifiers to major poker events, such as the EPT's and WSOP.
William Hill also run a selection of Shootout tournaments and a new "Head Hunter Tournament". The headhunter tournaments are multi-table tournaments where players earn cash for every player they knock out of a tournament. A portion of every buy-in is assigned to each player's "head". The more players someone eliminates, the more cash they win and also the bigger the target they become for all the other players. The standard Headhunter tournament will award 50% of the prize pool based upon heads that are knocked out and 50% as the regular prize pool. Expect some loose aggressive play in these tournaments.
The only slight criticism I have of William Hill's Poker tournaments are in regard to their Sit & Go tournaments. They are available from £1 + £0.20 up to £500 + £30, but tend to be quite slow to fill up at non-peak times, and only give players 1,000 in starting chips. In my opinion all tournaments should give players a minimum of 1,500 chips.
