Svenska Spel Deal FlopsSportingLife Poker 11 Nov -- A Swedish news publication has run a report that the country's monolithic gambling monopoly Svenska Spel has been denied the privilege of owning the state's online gambling industry by the government. The Swedish Government recently turned down a proposal from Spel that would effectively put the nation's online gambling authority on the international platform. Spel proposed offering services as the European member of the World Lottery Association. Boss Media were running talks with Svenska Spel, but the government has rebuffed the effort until they renew their gambling license on June 30, 2008.
