D'amato Claims Poker Comeback
SportingLife Poker 20 Nov -- Poker Players Alliance flagbearer and former U.S. Senator Alfonse D'Amato has proclaimed that he expects online poker to be back on good side of the law within 18 months.
The recent Las Vegas Global Gaming Expo (G2E) trade show was quite the place to be over the weekend, when poker enthusiasts could not only flourish in consumer heaven, but get a chance to hear the former US Senator make his bold statement: that the United States should have the online poker fire burning by 2009.
He claimed that due to immanent sanctions by the World Trade Organisation (WTO), there could be a substantial amount of pressure on Congress to re-consider their anti-online gaming stance.
We should watch for the danger of words overtaking actions, but D'Amato has been pivotal in the group's repeated Washington lobbying for the legalisation of the world's most popular card game. Back to November 2007 NewsBack to Poker News Index
