Ladbrokes Euro Champs - 30 JulyLadbrokes Poker have announced qualifying information for their 2006 Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker (LEOCOP), one of Europe's most prestigious online poker event. Qualification started on the 24th July. The seven-day festival of Poker with $1,160,000 in guaranteed prize money, will take place at ladbrokespoker.com from 25th September - 1st October 2006. Ladbrokes will be running appreciation freerolls for participants in at least 4* LEOCOP final events with prize packages worth $52,500 and exclusive gold bracelets for LEOCOP final winners on offer. The four events must include the $2,500 + $150 main event Over $2,000,000 was won online at Ladbrokes Poker during its series of seven LEOCOP tournaments, between 24th April - 1st May 2005. Over 2,000 participated in the finals themselves and over 10,000 entered online satellite qualifiers. Last year's highlights included: A popular victory of the opening event by Adam 'Square7' Lee, who took the $38,475 first place prize-money. The Heads-Up event was won by alias "TheHood" from Sydney, Australia, winning $72,000. Well known Ladbrokes player, Paul Jackson, 'Actionjack', managed a credible 3rd in the 32 player heads-up event, collecting $27,200, less than a week after his £100,000 win at the Cavendish Club in Northern Ireland. The Main Event ($2,500 No Limit Holdem Freezeout) was won by 'ALI666' from Durham, England, taking $266,250.
