Paddy Power - WSOP 2007 Bettingpaddypower.com today announces details of betting on the WSOP 2007 main event, the world's largest and most prestigious poker tournament. The first markets to go live are 'number of entrants' and 'to make final table'. Since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was passed in the US earlier this year speculation on how it will affect numbers at this year's WSOP has been frenzied. Many poker companies have pulled out of the US market and with over half the 2006 main event field believed to have been online qualifiers this could have a drastic impact on the field. WSOP owners Harrah's are not accepting third party registrations in 2007 and it is widely felt that the record 8,773 players who battled it out for a prize pool of over $87 million last year may not be bettered in 2007. The odds offered on the official number of players in the WSOP main event 2007 can be found in the Poker Betting section. Next year's WSOP kicks of on June 1, 2007 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, with the final table of the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship beginning July 17. In 2006 paddypower.com was the only bookmaker to bet 'in running' on the final table and expects to offer a plethora of betting markets for the 2007 event including 'group betting', 'match betting', 'female to make finale table', 'top European', 'age of winner', 'nationality of winner' and many more.
