Stud Poker Variations

Stud Poker games are any games where each player has a certain number of cards face-down and a certain number face-up. The face-down cards (or "cards in the hole") are cards that only each player can see. The face-up cards, however, are the ones that all players at the table can see in each other player's hand.

5 Card Stud

  • Highest hand wins.
  • Ace plays both high and low for straights.

7 Card Stud High Low

  • Highest hand splits the pot with the lowest qualifying low hand.
  • Players may use any five of their hole cards to make their highest and lowest hands.
  • To qualify for the low half of the pot, the low hand must be 8,7,6,5,4 or lower.
  • Ace plays both high and low.
