Poker Game Variation - 7/27

  • Closest to 7 and Closest to 27 Split the Pot
  • Ace plays both high and low for straights.
  • Players act clockwise from the dealer
  1. Deal 2 cards down and 1 card up to each player. Bet.
  2. Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, each player may take a card, stand pat, or fold. Once a player folds, he is out. A player may stand pat one round and draw the next. Bet.
  3. The lead rotates around the table each round (i.e., the player two to the left of the dealer starts the next round of pass, fold, or draw). Bet.
  4. Rounds continue until all remaining players have passed in the same round. Bet.
  5. Declare high (closest to 27), low (closest to 7), or both. Showdown.

Notes; Aces are worth 1 or 11, face cards half a point, and all other cards are worth their face value. The pot is split between the highest and lowest hands. (A player with 2 Aces and a Five, for example, should declare for both high and low hands, but must win both to collect.) If two players tie for a highest or lowest hand, they split only their chare of the high or low split. This game can also be played with 1 down card.
