Poker Strategy - Online Poker Training
Some notable pros have advocated the use of playing blind on micro limit tables as a training tool. Just watch a game for a few rounds until you get some kind of reads on the other players. Attach a post-it note to your screen-seat at the table so you can't see what cards you are dealt. From there just start playing your position and your reads of the other players. With a bit of practice this should really help you start to read the players and to play the players in relation to the flop and their betting patterns, with the added bonus of not being able to lose too much if things don't go your way. This is adrenaline poker, but a great training tool. As Doyle Brunson says: No Limit Texas Hold'em is not so much a game of cards, but a game of people.
Online poker has a great many facets which accelerates the learning curve of poker players and at a lesser cost. While many contest that online is just not proper poker, it serves well to remember that a lot of players have made a decent living solely through online poker, and many have gone on to become champions in the real world.
