Beginners Poker - Home Poker Games
Alcohol
Everyone loves a drink, one of the best thing about home games is the social experience of enjoy yourself and having a few beers over some cards. However I wouldn't recommend starting a game if you and others are already drunk not only is a logistical nightmare, but there's always a danger of experiencing tempers shorter than your local nightclub on "Chav night".
Table Talk
The most common sin in home games is players who have folded talking about what they had while the hand still in progress. It's distracting and effects of how the remaining players will play their hand no matter what people argue. Stop this behaviour at your table by keeping a large stick next to you.
You'll always have a bit of banter at the table; its good for the game and usually keeps everything light hearted and most of all fun. But make sure everyone knows of each other and that everyones relatively thick skinned, you don't want people taking offence and flipping the table in a "Wild West" moment. Most players will behave themselves, after all if they don't theres a good chance they won't be invited back!
