He collected the largest purse ever paid to a winner of a poker tournament (until this year's tournament). This former Patent Attorney has been playing online for a number of years and won his seat through an Internet poker site. Wearing his trademark cat eye glasses he played very aggressive poker for four days finally besting the more than 2000 entrants for the 2004 WSOP Main Event. In an interview after the final hand he said that he had been very lucky and could only remember taking two bad beats during the event.
