Full Tilt Poker - Review
OverallFull Tilt are the second biggest poker site in the world and one of the most recognisable brand thanks to their huge stable of sponsored Pros, including: Ivey, Lederer, Harman, Juanda, Ferguson etc.. Since launching on their own software in 2004 Full Tilt have become the preferred choice of many online players due to great traffic, software, choice of games and not to mention the High Stakes action on offer. With a 100% $600 bonus, be sure to try them out and find out why they are one of the top poker rooms on the net. SoftwareFull Tilt Poker have great software which can be downloaded on to both PCs and Macs. The software has all the features that you'd expect to find such as vital table stats in the lobby, note taking, find a buddy etc.. The lobby is nicely laid out and the menus with filterable menus and a design which is easy on the eye. The cashier won't casue you any problems either. The tables themselves have a very different feel from other poker rooms. Here you can select different backgrounds and different styles of tables and choose to have cartoon avatars showing different emotions (which can be disabled). This is all quite gimmicky, but does give you plenty of choice for how you want to play and how best you like seeing the action. The best feature by far at the table is the resize option, which is an absolute must for any serious internet players nowadays who want to multi-table. You can also save preferences as to whether you want to the separate tables to tile or cascade. Another great addition, particularly handy for the multi-tabler, is the inclusion of a 'time bank' where you can request more time to make a decision. There's also the standard choice of using a 4 colour deck as well. Overall the software is great and is testament to how Full Tilt have listened to their customers and have responded in bringing customers what they want. Full Tilt's Poker software is not absolutely perfect but it's a good deal better than almost any other competitor. TrafficFull Tilt Poker are one of the biggest poker rooms in the world and the site is absolutely packed full of players all of the time. They are one of a only a handful of sites that allow US players too. Since Party Poker its door to US players in 2006 it has caused player numbers at Full Tilt to swell. Usually there're around 10,000 people playing cash games at peak times, and around 40,000 tournament players. Theses figures seem comparable to some of the bigger networks, but what really makes Full Tilt Poker stand out from the crowd is the huge variety of games on offer and the stakes available. Whereas most sites have scarce traffic at the NLH $50/$100 blind levels, Full Tilt offer games all the way up to $1,000/$2,000 where you be playing against the very best internet and live pros. The sheer game variety is something to be wondered at too. There's decent levels of traffic for all games and even the option of playing mixed games like H.O.R.S.E or H.O.S.E. and other variants. Unfortunately the standard of poker is pretty good. Many online pros make Full Tilt their home, not for the soft competition, but for the guarantee of traffic - so don't expect an easy ride at moderate limits. It's true than many of the US fish moved over from Party when it closed its doors, however in general online poker players are becoming more educated and harder to beat, no more so than at Full Tilt poker where you will struggle to find complete novices playing at reasonable levels. However this is not to say the games are unbeatable, you just have to be a bit more savvy in your playing and cut down on your own mistakes. |
